Pashu Shed Scheme 2024: You will be pleased to know that the government has initiated a new scheme called MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 for animal farmers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). As you all know, most of the farmers in our country also engage in animal husbandry, which is an additional source of income for them. Some farmer brothers undertake animal husbandry along with agricultural activities, but it is not possible for all farmer brothers. To address this very issue, the government has started the MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 scheme.

MGNREGA Pashu Shed Scheme Apply

It is not feasible for a larger number of farmer brothers to engage in animal husbandry because it involves excessive expenses, ranging from purchasing animals to providing them with proper nutrition. In order to address this, the government has initiated the new scheme MGNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 to attract the attention of such farmers. Under this scheme, financial assistance is being provided by the government to individuals engaged in animal husbandry to build animal shelters on their own land.

In India, farmers have been practicing animal husbandry alongside agricultural activities for quite some time. Animal husbandry serves as an additional source of income for farmer brothers. However, due to the unfavorable economic condition of most farmers, they are unable to properly care for their animals. To address this issue, the government has launched MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024.

MNREGA Pashu Shed Scheme 2024

The primary objective of launching MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 by the government is to increase farmers' income while also providing appropriate housing for animals. If farmer brothers can care for animals properly, it will naturally lead to an increase in their income and an improvement in their standard of living.

The government will provide financial assistance through this scheme for the construction of sheds for animal husbandry on farmers' private land. For your information, under MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024, the financial assistance provided by the government for shed construction will not be given directly to the farmers. Instead, it will be used for the construction of sheds under the supervision of MNREGA.

Benefits of MNREGA Pashu Shed Scheme

  • MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 offers several benefits to livestock farmers.
  • The main objective of launching this scheme by the government is to provide financial assistance to those farmers who rely solely on animal husbandry for their income.
  • Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of eighty thousand rupees for the construction of sheds on their own land under the supervision of MNREGA.
  • The financial assistance provided under the scheme can be used not only for the construction of livestock sheds but also for the construction of flooring and urinal tanks.

Number of Designated Animals and Financial Benefits

To avail the benefits of the Pashu Shed Scheme 2024, farmers and livestock keepers must adhere to certain conditions set by the government. The primary condition is that farmers must have a minimum of 3 animals. If a farmer has more than three animals but less than six, they will receive financial assistance of 1 lakh 60 thousand rupees. Additionally, if a farmer has four animals, they can receive a financial benefit of 1 lakh 16 thousand rupees.

Names of Animals Included in Animal Husbandry

If observed, each farmer typically raises animals based on their income. However, under this scheme, farmers engaged in animal husbandry may have animals such as cows, buffaloes, goats, and chickens, among others. They can construct sheds under the scheme for the proper care of these animals.

MNREGA Pashu Shed 2024 Eligibility

  • The scheme benefits Indian farmers residing in small villages or towns for a significant duration.
  • Eligibility is for farmers whose livelihood solely relies on animal husbandry.
  • Minimum requirement includes ownership of three or more animals.
  • Young individuals returning to villages during lockdown, abandoning urban jobs for rural employment, are also eligible.

MNREGA Pashu Shed

  • Careful consideration must be given to the selection of location for constructing sheds for animal husbandry.
  • According to the regulations, the shed should be built in a place that is both level and not elevated.
  • The primary reason for this is to prevent water accumulation during rainfall and to facilitate easy drainage of animal waste.
  • This reduces the likelihood of animals falling ill and ensures their health.
  • Another condition is that the shed should be constructed in a location where sunlight can easily reach the animals when needed and can be closed off when not required.
