Kalia Yojana Installments (kisti) 2024
Under the KALIA Yojana of the Odisha government, the government has recently transferred approximately ₹1272 crore to the scheme's beneficiaries as part of a new installment. Around 5.3 million farmers in Odisha have benefited through this. Each farmer has received an assistance amount of ₹2000 directly into their bank accounts via the Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) method as part of the 2024 installment.

The Five Main Benefits of the Kalia Yojana
Under the Odisha Kalia Yojana, small and marginal farmers in the state will receive financial assistance to help them purchase inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, and to support labor and other investments. The main five benefits of this scheme are as follows:
Assistance for Cultivation Under KALIA Scheme
Farmers will receive financial assistance of ₹25,000 per family in five installments. This assistance will be provided to small and marginal farmers. Under the scheme, assistance of ₹5,000 per season will be provided to buy inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides and to support labor and other investments.
Livelihood Assistance
Landless agricultural households will receive financial assistance of ₹12,500 per family. This assistance will be provided for agricultural allied activities such as small goat rearing units, mini-layer units, duckery units, fishery kits for fishermen, mushroom cultivation, and beekeeping, etc. This benefit of the KALIA Yojana will be specifically given to people from SC/ST categories.
Assistance for Vulnerable Cultivators/Landless Agricultural Laborers
Vulnerable cultivators/landless agricultural laborers will receive financial assistance of ₹10,000 per family per year to help them sustain their livelihood. Vulnerable farmers/landless agricultural laborers who are elderly, disabled, suffering from diseases, or otherwise vulnerable will receive this assistance under the Kalia Yojana 2024 to support those who are economically and physically weak.
Life Insurance for Landless Agricultural Laborers and Cultivators
Farmers will receive life insurance cover with a premium of ₹330 per year. All savings bank account holders aged 18-50 years will receive this insurance cover. The Odisha government will pay ₹165 per year towards this premium. Additionally, under life insurance, farmers will receive personal accident cover of ₹2 lakh. The accident cover premium for all savings bank account holders aged 18-50 years is ₹12, of which ₹6 will be paid by the government. For applicants aged 51-70 years, the Odisha government will pay the ₹12 accident cover premium.
Crop Loan with 0% Interest Rate
Village panchayats will provide crop loans up to ₹50,000 at a zero percent interest rate to vulnerable landless laborers, farmers, sharecroppers, and agricultural families. This will help reduce poverty in the state, and people will easily obtain this crop loan without any interest conditions.
