The Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme has been initiated by the Rajasthan government to empower and digitally educate the women of the state. Through this scheme, free smartphones will be provided to women and daughters of Rajasthan. The announcement of this scheme was made during the budget declaration by the Chief Minister, aiming to provide internet connectivity along with smartphones to women of the Chiranjeevi family. The launch date for the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Scheme is set for August 10, 2023. Under this scheme, smartphones will be distributed to girls studying in classes 9th to 12th and also to those attending college from the Chiranjeevi family. Main Objective of the Scheme:
Eligibility Criteria:
- To avail the benefits of the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme, the applicant must be a resident of Rajasthan.
- Only women and students of the state will be eligible for this scheme.
- Women heads of Chiranjeevi families will be eligible for this scheme.
- Girls studying in classes 9th to 12th, as well as in colleges and higher education institutions, will also be eligible to benefit from the smartphone scheme.
- Widows/single women receiving pension, as well as women heads of families fulfilling 100 days of work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), will also be included in this scheme.

Offline Application Process:
- Only offline applications will be accepted under the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme. The process for offline application is outlined below:
- To apply under the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Yojana, you will need to attend camps organized at the district and block levels.
- Upon reaching there, you will need to provide information to the officials present at the camp to apply for the smartphone scheme under Indira Gandhi.
- The officials will ask you for necessary documents.
- Additionally, you will receive some essential information.
- Your application form will be filled out by the officials present at the camp.
- After filling out the application form, you will be given a sum of money which you will need to keep safe.
- In this way, the process of applying for the Indira Gandhi Free Smartphone Scheme will be completed.
