How to Watch NFL for Free and Live
- There are several legal ways to follow NFL action without paying for every individual game. The easiest option depends on where you live and which game you want to watch.
- In the United States, some NFL games continue to be shown through free over-the-air television networks when the relevant local station carries the matchup. FOX, CBS and NBC are important parts of the NFL broadcast system. If you already have access to the relevant local channel, you may not need a separate streaming subscription for that particular broadcast.
Pluto TV and NFL
- Pluto TV is an attractive option for viewers searching for free sports-related content because it carries the NFL Channel among its supported platforms. However, viewers should understand the difference between free NFL programming and free live NFL games.
- The official NFL Channel is a free, always-on channel featuring NFL content such as game-day coverage, replays, original programs, highlights and other football programming. The NFL specifically states that the NFL Channel does not show live NFL games. Pluto TV is one of the platforms where viewers can access the NFL Channel.
- This makes Pluto TV useful for fans who want free NFL content, updates and football programming, but it should not be treated as a service that provides every regular-season NFL game live for free.
Watching NFL on ESPN
- ESPN is one of the major NFL broadcast partners and is especially important for Monday Night Football. ESPN’s NFL coverage can be accessed through participating television packages and eligible streaming arrangements.
- If you already have a qualifying TV subscription, you may be able to sign in with your provider credentials and stream the game through ESPN or the ESPN app. The NFL’s viewing information confirms that Monday Night Football is associated with ESPN, with ABC also carrying selected games depending on the broadcast arrangement.
NBC Sports
NBC has a major role in NFL broadcasting through Sunday Night Football. Viewers can watch applicable games on NBC or stream them through Peacock where available. This is particularly useful for fans who want one of the biggest primetime games of the week. The official NFL guide identifies NBC and Peacock as options for Sunday Night Football.
If NBC is available through your local television service, you may be able to watch the game without purchasing a separate sports subscription. Streaming availability through Peacock depends on the applicable plan and market.
Amazon Prime Video
- Amazon Prime Video has become an important destination for NFL fans because Thursday Night Football is streamed on the platform. The NFL’s official viewing information lists Prime Video as the home for Thursday Night Football, including the applicable regular-season games.
- For someone who already has an eligible Prime membership, this can be one of the simplest ways to watch Thursday night games. New customers may also see promotional or trial offers depending on their country and account eligibility, but such offers can change.
Netflix and NFL Live Games
- Netflix has entered the NFL distribution landscape with selected games rather than becoming a complete NFL streaming destination. For the 2026 season, NFL viewing information identifies Netflix as the home for selected international and Christmas Day games. This means Netflix can be important for particular marquee matchups, but it does not mean that every NFL game is available on Netflix.
- If a game is scheduled as a Netflix-exclusive broadcast, viewers who want to watch that particular matchup live will need to follow Netflix’s availability and subscription requirements in their region.
FOX Sports and NFL Games
FOX Sports is another major destination for NFL fans, particularly for Sunday afternoon games and selected playoff coverage. The official NFL information indicates that FOX carries local Sunday games and that FOX Sports viewers can sign in with participating TV-provider credentials. FOX’s own 2026 viewing guide also identifies FOX and FOX One as destinations for Sunday afternoon games, special windows and NFC playoff games.
Can You Watch Every NFL Game for Free?
No single legitimate free platform normally provides every NFL game live throughout the season. NFL broadcasting rights are divided among several networks and streaming services. One week might include a Thursday game on Prime Video, Sunday afternoon games on FOX or CBS, Sunday Night Football on NBC and Monday Night Football on ESPN. Special games can also appear on other platforms such as Netflix.

Official Websites – NFL Live Streaming
Important: Live NFL availability depends on your country, local broadcast rights, subscription and the particular game. The official NFL Ways to Watch guide should be checked before kickoff.
How to Find the Correct NFL Channel
Finding the right broadcaster is usually easier than searching randomly across streaming platforms.
- Check the NFL schedule for the date and matchup.
- Look for the listed television or streaming partner.
- Check whether the broadcaster is available in your country.
- Confirm whether your existing subscription includes the game.
- Use the official app or website of the broadcaster.
- Check local listings when the game is carried by an over-the-air network.
- For out-of-market games, check whether a dedicated Sunday Ticket option is required.
What About NFL+?
- NFL+ is the league’s own streaming service in the United States. It offers a combination of live local and nationally televised mobile games, NFL Network content, game audio, replays and other programming depending on the subscription tier.
- There is an important limitation: NFL+ is available only in the United States. Fans outside the United States are directed by the NFL toward its international viewing options.NFL+ should therefore not be presented as a worldwide free live-streaming solution. Its availability and live-game restrictions depend on the user’s location and the type of game being shown.
Watching NFL Outside the United States
International viewers need to be especially careful when choosing a streaming service. NFL broadcasting rights vary by country, and a service that works in the United States may not provide the same games in India, the United Kingdom, Australia or another country.
The NFL’s international viewing information explains that fans outside the United States may need to use the international rights holder available in their territory. The official NFL guide should be checked for the country where you are watching rather than relying on a list made for American viewers.
